IDRA Releases Attrition Data and Holds Summit for Solutions

On Friday, IDRA will release its latest school attrition study for high school students in Texas. Since 1986, when IDRA conducted Texas’ first comprehensive statewide study of high school dropouts, Texas schools have lost 2.2 million students with an estimated net loss to the state of $500 billion.

The 2004-05 attrition study by IDRA is available online at www.idra.org. The study includes attrition data for each Texas county as well as components of strong school holding power.

As it releases its 20th annual attrition study, IDRA is unveiling a “Quality Schools Action Framework” at a statewide invitational summit November 4-5 in San Antonio convened by IDRA and the League of United Latin American Citizens.
