Parent Leadership in Education
The Annual IDRA La Semana del Niño Parent Institute, grounded in IDRA’s Family Leadership Model, will address pressing educational issues such as school holding power, college access, quality teaching, curriculum requirements and expectations.
The smaller breakout sessions will showcase parents from across the state, presenting to the institute participants on what they have done about these issues in their districts. These include such topics as math and science family activities, GEAR UP, early childhood, curriculum decisions and surveys. There will be sessions for all grade levels: early childhood, elementary and secondary.
In addition to the information sharing and leadership development, the institute day will offer participants the opportunity to network with other parents.
Attached please find the registration form. Thank you for helping recruit parents to attend the institute. Title I and local campus parent involvement monies can be used to pay registration.
Note: Please register your parents ASAP because space limitations dictate that only the first 150 registrants can be accommodated.
