The State of Literacy in
San Antonio
|
|

The illiteracy rate in San Antonio is higher than that of the state and the country as a whole. |
San Antonio has the second highest illiteracy rate among major Texas cities. El Paso leads the group, and Austin has the lowest rate. |
There are 100,429 illiterate adults in San Antonio, 15.05% of the adult population. Illiteracy is not homogeneously distributed throughout the various districts that make up the city. In some district - such as 1, 4, and particularly 5 - the illiteracy rate exceeds 20%, while in others - such as 8, 9, and 10 - it is below 5%. |
