Albert Cortez, Ph.D.

Dr. Albert Cortez is the director of policy and is an expert on minority education policy at the local, state and national levels. He has served as a technical advisor and resource authority for more than 20 years of legislative action and was extensively involved in the development of school finance reform policy, dropout prevention, immigrant education and state assessment. He also has conducted pioneer research in assessment and immigrant education. He holds a master’s degree in cultural foundations of education and a doctorate in cultural foundations of education with a support area in educational administration. He is proficient in English and Spanish.
