(December 11, 2007) Students with disabilities drop out of school at higher rates than any other student group. Working with the National Dropout Prevention Center for Students with Disabilities, IDRA has set up a planned variation of the Coca-Cola Valued Youth Program with an emphasis on serving students with disabilities. Josie Danini Cortez, M.A., an IDRA senior education associate, and Lee Ramos, a San Antonio high school teacher, talk about the dramatic impact of this pilot project and share stories of students it served.
