Ideas from Superintendents

Superintendent Roundtable

  • Build local and statewide coalitions to support public education and support diversity.
  • Ensure fair, equitable and adequate facilities for all districts.
  • Create accountability that is based on multiple indicators that can include assessment (but not make assessment the primary focus).
  • Provide funding for language acquisition that will meet the demands of our global society and promote the benefits of diversity.
  • Create a greater alignment of schools with higher education institutions, so that it can impact teacher and administrative preparation.
  • Develop a curriculum that makes students' consciously aware of their opportunities.
  • Partner with schools and provide quality education to promote the creation of coalitions between professional education associations. Maintain the focus and accountability as its original purpose while ensuring that no segment of the school's population is penalized unfairly.
