Building Support for Student Access to College

Webinar Building Support for Student Access to College banner

Get tools to help high school students transition to college!

This webinar training will equip school counselors with IDRA’s new toolkits to provide college information for students and families. Designed for school counselors, the kits will help you build new networks to enhance capacity for sharing college knowledge on your campus.

Informed by focus groups and roundtable conversations with students, families and school counselors, the new toolkits will help counselors and students navigate recent policy changes that limit diversity, equity and inclusion in college admissions.

The new toolkits include:

  • How to Build Student-to-Student Networks
  • How to Encourage Student Leadership for Transitions to College
  • How to Support Parent College Knowledge

This project builds on IDRA’s series of Ready Texas studies. The latest found Texas counselors do not have enough time to actually counsel with students, particularly for college and career advising.

This research initiative is generously funded by Greater Texas Foundation, whose vision is for all Texas students to have equal opportunity to access and succeed in postsecondary education.
