IDRA’s summer externship program connects educators with local employers to bring real-world STEM learning into the classroom. This summer, 10 teachers explored engineering, cybersecurity, manufacturing and more. And industry professionals helped the teachers connect classroom learning to real-world STEM careers by sharing their expertise and day-to-day work.
Teachers then translated their workplace experiences into classroom projects and capstone ideas for the next school year.
In this webinar, you will hear reflections from participating educators and industry supervisors about the value of cross-sector partnerships. We’ll showcase the impact that career-connected learning can have on students, educators, schools and community.
These career connections make learning more meaningful for students as they explore STEM degrees and careers, while giving teachers new ideas and tools to bring real-world STEM learning into their classrooms.
