Anisah Aguilar Anisah is a rising third-year student in the St. Mary’s University School of Law. She is a member of the national dispute resolution team and the organizational moot court team, and she is the secretary of the board of advocates. She will be the vice president of OUTLaw, the law student LGBT+ affinity group, for the second year in a row.
Anisah’s background is heavily science-based, as she dreamed of becoming a science teacher when she was younger. She studied neuroscience at Boston University (c/o 2022) and worked at the University of Texas as a lab manager with the Fonken Lab, studying circadian rhythms, for two years. While she still dreams of being a teacher one day, she felt a sense of urgency in reforming the public education system in Texas, which led her to the decision to pursue a path in policy, advocacy and lawmaking.
