Since 1971, it would take numerous legislative attempts and additional cases to get Texas where it is today, which is better, but still inequitable and underfunded. IDRA provided research and technical assistance to policymakers and advocated for more equity in funding. IDRA also launched statewide information campaigns and formed coalitions on the issue.
