In 1973, a small group of concerned citizens set out to challenge inequities in Texas public schools and defend all students and their right to an excellent and equitable education.
Since then, IDRA has grown into a national non-profit that influences policy; guides school leaders and teachers; conducts research; and creates powerful student and parent leadership programs.
IDRA’s work focuses on students of color, emergent bilingual students, and students from families with limited means across the U.S. South, particularly in Texas and Georgia.
As we celebrate 50 years, we also honor those who’ve worked in collaboration with us to ensure every student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for college and a powerful future.
IDRA has not held an anniversary gala in decades, so we hope you will take this special opportunity to join us.
